EEF West Midlands
Strategically the brief for the extension and alteration of Woodland Grange maybe distilled into two components;
- A new teaching block, which comprises three training rooms and syndicate rooms, over which are 42 bedrooms. The site is to the north of the existing buildings overlooking rolling landscape to the Avon Valley.
- A leisure facility located within the cedar clad circular drum adjacent to the entrance and engaging with an open courtyard at the heart of the conference centre.
Our proposals seek to recognise these functionally different components but, more particularly, the different qualities of their respective sites. Overarching this, our proposals seek a contemporary response to the architecture of the original house, rather than later additions, and thereby in fusing the old and new together, express the spirit of a developing Woodland Grange.
